Avg 9.0 Free upgrade

I got the notice that there is a new 9.0 and have to upgrade by the first of Dec. Is 8.5 not going to have anymore update to it after that?

Also I thought I seen somewhere a couple of weeks ago that if you are going to upgrade to 9.0 you had to have 512 mb of ram, is that right? I can't for the life of me find anywhere, what I have to have to load it. I have the 8.5 free on my PC and it has 2.40 GH and 512 MB of ram. On my laptop I have 8.5 Free but it is at 1.86 GH and 1.0 GB of ram. Could someone tell me if I am going to beable to upgrade and be ok?

Also could you explain to me just how to do the upgrade? I always become so afraid when I have to do this, and have always got the instruction from here and it goes great. It is put down so that I can understand just what to do. I'm not good at these computer things.

LB, here is what you were needing:Here’s what you’ll need to protect yourself with AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition...Intel Pentium 1.8 GHz processor or faster ...550 MB free hard drive space (for installation) 512 MB RAM....

LB, you have to uninstall the 8.5. I do believe you have requirements. If you install AVG 9 on AVG 8.5 its (i think) gonna act as having 2 anti virus' and is gonna be unstable.

If previous version of AVG8 is not detected, it looks like corrupted installation. Please use the AVG remover from this direct link:
